The EU Star Wars material was writen by the same people wrote the movies. The articles explaining 2001 were written by people who saw the movie and made there own mind up on what it ment. So it's not really the same thing. CM says that they all said diddrent things, which show just how ambiguous the film is. If he think it's about nothing, fine. But don't try and pass that off as fact like you know any better.

@shedininja001 Agreed. I get the same type of complaints about Harry Potter movies. The thing is, I DID read those books. It was long ago, but I remember the basics. But when something happens for no apparent reason, it's not my fault because I forgot the book's version of the event. It's the movie's fault for leaving out the explanation in the first place.

I agree to that point. CM saying the movie meens nothing to everyone is wrong. However, this does not diminish from the post I've seen saying that he does not "get it" and neads to read something to "get it" in that case, why could the movie not give what he neaded to get in that movie.

Dude, how can you say that seeking other interpretations indicates a lack of critical analysis? Exactly the opposite of this is true. Scholars have been writing and promoting their interpretations of media for hundreds of years, all of which are valid. You can hold one or many interpretations on a book or film. From there, you can seek out other interpretations ON THE TEXT to bolster your own opinion, or to increase your knowledge of the text.

dude were you expecting this movie to be a direct adaptation of the show? come on, with the switch from animated to live action, you had to realize that some things were going to be changed or taken out to make it seem more like a movie and less like a tv show. aang's tattoo looks much more realistic then the one in the cartoon. The blue arrow would have looked pretty fake. you really need to watch the video jeff palmer just put up discussing this movie

I have to agree with you (except for the race thing) there is no reason these characters shouldn't be wearing their signature colors, anng wears orange for a reason because orange is a naturally vibrant color it conveys that how Anng is different then your standard hero, he's all about being up beat and what not. i hope they don't make him all gritty and sad like we've seen with so many other characters when they make it to the big screen.

they already Boycott the cast once and i believe this new cast is better.....And If they made it 100% like the cartoon then why not just make a cartoon movie... Plus on top of that you said the actor playing zuko looks like him Yet you didnt say anything about his skin color like you did Katara or Sokka....and i think Aang's new Tattoo is way better.
